About
What this is, and who made it
What ArrestIQ is
A free, anonymous tool that lets you practise what happens when police stop you in Victoria, and then explains the law behind each decision in plain language afterwards. It is not run for profit — no fees, donations, ads or paywalls, and there never will be.
Who it’s for
Anyone 13 or older in Victoria who wants to understand what actually happens in a police interaction before it happens to them — whether they’re the person being spoken to, or standing nearby with a friend who is.
What it is not
- It is not legal advice, and no one here is your lawyer.
- It is not a crisis service. If someone is in danger, call 000.
- It describes Victorian law only, and — see below — that description has not yet been checked by a lawyer.
- It is not a game about winning or losing: there is no score, no ranking and no way to get a scenario “wrong”.
Review status
Every statement of Victorian law in this app is currently a draft. It has not yet been checked by a lawyer, and we say so on every screen rather than launching as though it had been. Where the law itself is genuinely unsettled or depends heavily on the exact facts, the relevant decision says that in place, paired with the safest thing to do — rather than guessing or staying silent about it.

Privacy
There is no account, no sign-in, and no name, email, date of birth, school or address is ever asked for. The app has no server-side database it writes to. Everything it keeps track of is described in full on the Privacy page — it’s a short list.
